Honda Production Stoppage Continues

Factories closed through March 27
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Mar. 22, 2011
Honda has again extended the suspension of production at some of its Japanese factories.

Motorcycle production at Honda s Kumamoto factory will be suspended until at least March 27. Automobile production at the Sayama plant at the Saitama factory as well as the Suzuka factory will also be suspended until after March 27.

These plants have been idled since March 15 following the earthquake and tsunamis off the east coast of Japan.

The decision to suspend production was based on Japans continuing recovery efforts as well as the supply of parts from suppliers.

Honda will continue to monitor the situation before deciding whether to restart production from March 28 onwards.
