The Snell Foundation has significantly revised its helmet standards for 2010, and HJC's new CL-16 is one of the first lids on the market that achieves this certification.

HJC says the polycarbonate-composite CL-16 is 100 grams (3.5 ounces) lighter than the model it replaces, and new multi-layer foam padding offers improved fit and the moisture-wicking qualities of a “SpeedCool” interior fabric.

Best of all, prices for the new CL begin at just $129.99 for solid colors. Metallics ($134.99), a matte-black “Rubbertone” ($134.99), and graphics versions cost slightly more, peaking at $144.99.

The new CL-16 from HJC retails for just $139.99 for Hellion graphic shown here.

Despite the modest buy-in price, the CL has plenty of nice features. The RapidFire Shield Replacement System provides easy, tool-less shield removal and installation, and the “ACS” Advanced Channeling Ventilation System was developed in HJC's own wind tunnel for optimum airflow. Each CL-16 comes with a faceshield that blocks 95% of UV rays and has an anti-scratch coating.  As a bonus, the shield comes with a Pinlock anti-fog insert.

The CL-16 is available in sizes from XS to XXXL and should be in dealers later this month. For more information visit HJCHelmets.com.
