H-D Sportster trade-in program returns
Receive full MSRP value when trading up for big Twin or V-Rod
From July 1 to Aug. 31, customers who purchase a Sportster 883 or 1200 motorcycle at participating dealerships can get the original MSRP value when upgrading to a larger Harley-Davidson Twin or V-Rod within a year, in the Ride Free II Guarantee.
Harley-Davidson ran a similar program over the winter from Dec. 26, 2008 to Mar. 31, with positive results. In the company’s first quarter report in April, Harley-Davidson said the Ride Free program “successfully created consumer interest and reinforced the brand value of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.”
Unlike the winter campaign, the summer Ride Free program includes the XR1200 along with six other Sportster models.
“We’re excited to give customers who purchase new 2009 Sportster models the guaranteed MSRP value if they choose to trade-in to a Big Twin or V-Rod model within a year,” says Dino Bernacchi, Harley-Davidson director of advertising and promotion. “The exceptional value of our motorcycles provides a unique way to reward our customers and give them more choices to enjoy the freedom and passion of the Harley-Davidson experience, especially during an uncertain economy.”
For the Ride Free II Guarantee, Harley-Davidson defines MSRP as being the original factory-delivered MSRP including factory-installed options. Additional parts and accessories, taxes, titles, licenses, set-up charges, extended service plans GAP coverage and dealer add-ons are not included.
