H-D Softail featured in Indy film

Bike featured in campus chase scene

Motorcycle enthusiasts hitting the theaters should keep an eye open for the two-wheeled co-star appearing in the new Indiana Jones flick, released May 22.

The fourth film in the series, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull stars Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett and a 2007 Harley-Davidson Softail Springer Classic.

Shia LaBeouf plays Mutt Williams, a motorcycle-riding greaser in the new Indiana Jones film.
The bike is featured in a chase scene with Indiana Jones (Ford) riding as a passenger behind sidekick Mutt Williams (LaBeouf) through a college campus. The chase was filmed at Yale University, including a segment that takes place inside the schools Sterling Memorial Library.

The Motor Company supplied five motorcycles for the movie, each modified to reflect the films 1957 period setting. Two of the bikes will be on display at the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Museum, opening July 12 in Milwaukee.
