H-D Announces Factory Custom Program

H-D1 program launches Feb. 4
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Jan. 03, 2011
Harley-Davidson is launching a new factory customization program, letting customers order their motorcycles with their choice of personal options.

Starting Feb. 4, Harley-Davidson customers will be able to design, build and personalize their new motorcycles with the new H-D1 factory customization program.

Harley-Davidson has released a new website for the H-D1 program. Full details have yet to be revealed, but the site provides an idea on what to expect.

Customers will be able to design their motorcycles online or at a dealership with upgrades and custom paint from Harley-Davidsons Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories catalog. If the parts catalogs 8,000-plus items proves too overwhelming for some people, they can also consult with Harley-Davidson dealers to plan their H-D1 custom. The custom designed bike will be assembled at the factory to be delivered.

Harley-Davidson has also released a video to promote the H-D1 program. Its a bit abstract, showing people walking around in cages before cutting to an engine roar and the tagline A revolution in personal freedom is coming.
