Haga Joins Satellite Aprila WSBK Team

Nitro Nori to ride RSV4
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Oct. 04, 2010
Noriyuki Haga is swapping one Italian superbike for another, signing with the PATA Aprilia Team for the 2011 World Superbike Championship.

The PATA Racing, a joint effort between the DFX Corse team and Borciani Racing, will enter an Aprilia RSV4 with strong support from the Italian manufacturer.

Haga has had a disappointing year racing for Ducati Xerox. Expectations were high going into the season after his eight-win runner-up finish in 2009, but Haga managed just two wins this season to finish sixth in the 2010 championship. During the season, Ducati announced it would not enter a factory team in 2011, sending Haga in search for a new ride.

With the PATA Racing Team, Haga will be reunited with Aprilia. Haga raced on an Aprilia RSV1000 in the 2002 WSBK season before moving to MotoGP to ride the Aprilia RS3 Cube.

Noriyuki Haga has landed with a satellite Aprilia team for 2011.

Im really happy to announce the birth of a new team and a new collaboration with Marco Borciani, who will be managing the squad, says Daniele Carli, owner of DFX Corse which is also raced on a Ducati this season. We will race on a factory bike, which made us decide for a strong rider such as Noriyuki Haga, who is a big name in Superbike history. I would also like to thank Ducati for their helpfulness in all these seasons, during which we collaborated and scored important results.
