Four MotoGP races to air on network TV
CBS Sports will air live coverage of the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on July 20, at 5-6 pm ET. CBS Sports will also air same-day delayed broadcasts of the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring in Germany on July 13 at 1-2 pm and the Czech Republic Grand Prix at Brno, Czech Republic on Aug. 17, at 2-3 pm.
NBC will provide live coverage of the first Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sept. 14 at 3-4 pm ET.
Both networks will provide commentary and analysis by experienced broadcasters and interviews with the top racers in the series.
According to Dorna Sports, MotoGP racing is broadcast in about 200 countries live or in same-day delayed broadcasts, reaching over 304 million viewers per race. MotoGP broadcasts make use of more than 20 trackside cameras, high-frequency cameras in pit lane and footage shot from helicopters. As well, each MotoGP bike is equipped with a pair of miniature cameras to show race fans how the world looks at over 200 mph.
