Former Buell engineering director Abe Askenazi has joined Zero Motorcycles as vice president of engineering.

Askenazi has 14 years of experience in the motorcycle industry, recently holding the position of senior director of analysis, test and engineering process with Buell.

During his time with Buell, Askenazi helped develop 26 models from concept to production. Askenazi is contribuited to patents for front brake rotor mounting, lightweight wheels, spoke arrangement and an integral fuel storage unit with breakaway steering head.

Abe is a seasoned leader and engineer and is an excellent addition to our management team, says Gene Banman, chief executive officer of Zero Motorcycles. He impressed us with his vast experience and many successes at Buell and we are looking forward to working with Abe in his new capacity at Zero Motorcycles.

Askenazi has a Masters of Science degree in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley and wrote the Ask Abe column in Buells Fuell Magazine.
