FIM e-Power: 2010 Le Mans results

Firefighter wins first e-Power race
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Apr. 16, 2010
Thomas Betti of Betti Moto has won the first ever FIM e-Power International Championship race.

Betti, a 29-year-old firefighter from Rimini, Italy, qualified in pole position and won the race, held April 16 at the Bugatti Circuit ahead of the Le Mans 24 Hours Endurance World Championship race.

Betti rode on a motorcycle constructed by his father, Luciano Betti, who also competed. Bettis best lap was clocked at 2:21, two seconds off his qualifying time. Betti says he was trying to manage the available charge to last the entire six-lap race.

Thomas Betti (115) won the inaugural e-Power race. Reiner Kopp (48) finished second.

The race had six entrants from five teams but only five riders started the race. Reiner Kopp of the Munich Racing team finished in second using a Laverda-framed electric motorcycle. Christian Amendt of the Epo-Bike.de team was third on a motorcycle with a Honda frame.
