Geoff May has signed on to race for the Erik Buell Racing team on the Buell 1125RR.

May will make his Erik Buell Racing debut competing in the May 14-16 AMA American Superbike round at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. May will be joined by team manager Dennis Zickrick and crew chief Michael Tjon.

“Geoff did a couple short tests with us, including one very cold and wet one at Road America this weekend, and all of us were very satisfied with the results. The bikes worked well, and Geoff is a very talented rider with great development feedback skills,” says Zickrick, who was chief mechanic for Danny Eslick in his 2009 Daytona Sportbike championship season. “We all look forward to joining the series.”

Geoff May had three podium appearances for Jordan Suzuki in 2009.

May has been racing as a privateer in the Daytona Sportbike class on a Suzuki GSX-R600, finishing seventh in the Daytona 200 and earning 10th and 11th place finishes at the Road Atlanta round. May finished eighth in the 2009 American Superbike Championship with three podium appearances for Jordan Suzuki.

“We are very fortunate to be able to field a team of this caliber,” says Erik Buell “Our team is very lean in size and budget and we are up against the best, but I know these guys will do everything possible to put on a great show for the fans.”
