The new F4, possibly the last MV Agusta introduced under Harley-Davidson ownership, has been completely redesigned with a new engine and chassis. MV Agusta introduced the 2010 F4 at the 2009 EICMA show in Milan, Italy.

And now, with the new 2010 F4 unveiled alongside our new Brutale 990R and 1090RR models, we feel our company is in a position to show the industry why MV Agusta is known for creating incomparable works of motorcycle art,” says Larry Ferracci, director of U.S. operations for MV Agusta USA.
Styling updates include new squared ends to the F4’s traditional “organ pipe” four-pipe undertail exhaust. MV Agusta claims the F4’s new fairing has the lowest frontal area of any inline four-cylinder motorcycle and is comparable to the front of a Twin. The headlights retain the look of the original F4 but use a poli-elliptical mono-element light with a xenon bulb, a first for motorcycles.
The newly engineered 998cc four-cylinder engine with twin shower fuel injectors per cylinder has a claimed power output of 186 hp, down from the 190 hp produced in the 2009 model’s 1,078cc engine. The new electronic injection system uses 49mm throttle bodies with a patented “Torque Shift System” which allows for variable lift intake. Other updates include a variable length intake system, slipper clutch and the TC MK II traction control system with eight levels of adjustment.
The new chassis is more compact, said to be narrower, shorter and lighter. The new single-sided swingarm is 20 mm longer but is said to be 2.65 lb lighter. The front fork is also lighter, said to be weighing only 11.02 lb. According to MV Agusta, the 2010 F4 is 22 lb. lighter than previous model, weighing in at 423.5 lb.
