Disabled riders get an Advantage
The Boss Hoss Advantage trike is a modified version of the Boss Hoss Truck trike. The front of the vehicle has a traditional motorcycle cruiser appearance, featuring a liquid cooled V-8 engine and a 63 mm inverted fork, while the back is designed to look like the rear of a pick-up truck.
Whereas the Truck trike uses the wide rear as a large storage space, the Advantage trikes fiberglass rear body hides a wheelchair lift built into the chassis. All the controls are hand operable. These modifications were designed as an aftermarket conversion by V-8 Performance, Inc., a company known for its V-8 powered barstool, the HossFly.
We want riders to know that its not their disabilities, but their abilities that count, says Rad Hunsley, president and chief operating officer of Boss Hoss. We have riders with a variety of handicaps that love our trikes. We are now offering those who do not have use of their legs the freedom to ride.
While the wide 60 rear of the trike may seem like a large load to carry, the 5,700 cc engine is more than enough for the task, producing 355 hp at 5,250 rpm and 405 ft.lbs. of torque at 4,200 rpm.
The Advantage trike is scheduled for a September release at Boss Hoss dealerships.
