David Knight returning to GNCC
Knight will make his 2009 season debut in the XC1 class at the MotorcycleUSA.com Snowshoe GNCC, the ninth round the season.
The 2007 and 2008 GNCC champion, Knight returns to the American series after parting ways with BMW s World Enduro Championship team. Knight will ride a Kawasaki motorcycle, a change from his two championship seasons on a KTM bike.
I thought I would do it for a bit of fun really, says Knight. I had a tough year with the BMW thing. Unfortunately that didnt work out. Really, I enjoy the race. I just sort of thought Id get back and have fun more than anything. Once I start having fun again results will come back hopefully.
The Snowshoe Resort round is the last stop before the GNCC summer hiatus, so Knight will have one event before the season resumes Sept. 12-13 at the Can-Am Unadilla in New Berlin, N.Y. With nine rounds already complete, Knight has no chance of repeating as champion but he will be wearing the GNCC number one plate.
