BMW Maxi-Scooters Confirmed for EICMA

Two new models to launch as 2012 models
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Feb. 22, 2011
BMW Motorrad Vice President Hermann Bohrer has confirmed the company will launch two maxi-scooters in 2012.

The two new scooter models will likely be based on the Concept C prototype unveiled at the 2010 EICMA show in Milan. At the time, BMW announced it planned to produce two models, but Bohrer, speaking at a launch event for the BMW K1600GT in South Africa, confirmed the two scooters will debut at the 2011 EICMA show.

BMW had also announced at EICMA it may produce an electric scooter. Bohrers comments made no mention of an electric model, but BMW recently unveiled a new sub-brand known as BMW i for its electric automobiles, while the companys MINI brand unveiled an electric scooter concept at EICMA, so a future electric BMW iScooter should not be discounted.
