BMW dealer takes aim at fundraising record

S1000RR up for grabs in Ultimate Bike Raffle 2

The owner of a BMW motorcycle dealership in Jessup, Md. is looking break his fundraising record for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundationís Ride for Kids program.

Bob Henig, owner of Bobís BMW Motorcycles, raised $106,437 for the charity last year and he wants to beat that mark this year by holding the Ultimate Bike Raffle 2.

The Ride for Kids program supports the efforts of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation to find the cause of and the cure for childhood brain tumors. Thousands of motorcyclists participate in Ride for Kids events held across the country each year, increasing public awareness as well as raising much needed funds to support medical research and assist the families affected by this dreadful disease.

Somebody is going to win a brand new BMW S1000RR.

Prizes this year include a brand new BMW S1000RR sport bike, which will be on the market in January 2010. The new motorcycle is BMWís first foray into the sport bike market and has an MSRP of $13,800. Other prizes include an Edelweiss Ultimate Alps Tour ($5,000 value), premium riding suits from BMW and Olympia ($1,000 -$2,700 value), and many other great pieces of motorcycle gear. Henig believes these prizes will help him exceed last yearís record, allowing help him to maintain his title as the nationís biggest fundraiser for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

ďThe Ride for Kids and Ultimate Bike Raffle 2 are excellent opportunities to raise awareness about this cause,Ē says Henig. ďWe need all the help we can get to break last yearís record. Anyone can participate, even if they donít own or ride a motorcycle.Ē

Raffle tickets cost $40 each, or $100 for three tickets plus a limited edition Ultimate Bike Raffle 2 t-shirt. Tickets can be purchased online at or at Bobís BMW Motorcycles at 10720 Guilford Rd., Jessup, Md. Only 5,000 tickets are available for purchase, considerably raising the odds of winning.

Raffle winners will be chosen at an event at Bobís BMW Motorcycles on November 14, 2009. The Ride For Kids event will take place on September 27, 2009, in Columbia, Md., with a pre-ride ride beginning at Bobís BMW at 8 a.m.
