BMW dealer takes aim at fundraising record
Bob Henig, owner of Bobs BMW Motorcycles, raised $106,437 for the charity last year and he wants to beat that mark this year by holding the Ultimate Bike Raffle 2.
The Ride for Kids program supports the efforts of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation to find the cause of and the cure for childhood brain tumors. Thousands of motorcyclists participate in Ride for Kids events held across the country each year, increasing public awareness as well as raising much needed funds to support medical research and assist the families affected by this dreadful disease.
Prizes this year include a brand new BMW S1000RR sport bike, which will be on the market in January 2010. The new motorcycle is BMWs first foray into the sport bike market and has an MSRP of $13,800. Other prizes include an Edelweiss Ultimate Alps Tour ($5,000 value), premium riding suits from BMW and Olympia ($1,000 -$2,700 value), and many other great pieces of motorcycle gear. Henig believes these prizes will help him exceed last years record, allowing help him to maintain his title as the nations biggest fundraiser for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
The Ride for Kids and Ultimate Bike Raffle 2 are excellent opportunities to raise awareness about this cause, says Henig. We need all the help we can get to break last years record. Anyone can participate, even if they dont own or ride a motorcycle.
Raffle tickets cost $40 each, or $100 for three tickets plus a limited edition Ultimate Bike Raffle 2 t-shirt. Tickets can be purchased online at BobsBMW.com or at Bobs BMW Motorcycles at 10720 Guilford Rd., Jessup, Md. Only 5,000 tickets are available for purchase, considerably raising the odds of winning.
Raffle winners will be chosen at an event at Bobs BMW Motorcycles on November 14, 2009. The Ride For Kids event will take place on September 27, 2009, in Columbia, Md., with a pre-ride ride beginning at Bobs BMW at 8 a.m.
