Benelli factory now ISO 9001 certified

Italian-based Motorcycle Manufacturer sets sights on quality and quantity
By Tor Sagen, Sep. 18, 2008
Benelli motorcycles may be known for being impressive and beautiful, but unfortunately not always reliable. Thankfully, Benelli has not taken this lightly.

Their facilities have undergone an inspection and verification process so that the entire factory is now ISO 9001 certified.

This is big news for a small factory that wants to grow to produce as many as 6,000 bikes per year by 2011. Along with this news comes the hope that Benelli motorcycles, known for being exciting and exotic machines, will be able to offer improved reliability.

Gaining ISO 9001 certification is an important step for a company like Benelli that is looking to expand.

The inspection and analysis regarding the quality of the factory in Pesaro was carried out by an Italian subsidiary of the prestigious German institute TUV. This target was outlined as early as October 2005 after the takeover of Benelli by the Chinese group, QianJiang. Now that they have met this prestigious accreditation, Benelli will work towards expanding their sales and service network as they anticipate an increase in production and sales.
