Baja legend Bruce Ogilvie: 1952-2009
Off-road star won Baja 1000 in four different decades Baja racing champion Bruce Ogilvie passed away April 13 after a two-year battle with cancer.

Ogilvie is the only racer to win the Baja 1000 overall in four different decades, with his most recent triumph coming in 2003 at the age of 51. Ogilvie can also claim victories in the San Felipe 250 and the Baja 500.
In 1984, Ogilvie joined American Honda where he coordinated the companys off-road racing efforts. Most recently, Ogilvie was Hondas senior test evaluator where he left his touch on every off-road motorcycle or ATV product produced by Honda.
Bruce Ogilvie earned three ISDE medals.
Ogilvie is survived by his wife Marcia, his 14-year-old son Nick and nine-year-old daughter Isabella. In recognition of the role that blood transfusions played in Ogilvies struggle with cancer, his family asks for people to donate blood in his honor.
