AMA Sportbike: DiSalvo Signs with Latus

Will ride Ducati 848 EVO
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Dec. 14, 2010
Jason DiSalvo is returning to AMA competition, signing with the Latus Racing team for the 2011 season.

The Batavia, N.Y., native will compete in the 2011 Daytona Sportbike class riding a Ducati 848 EVO, and work with crew chief Ronnie Saner and team owner George Latus.

I want to thank George Latus for giving me this opportunity to help bring success to his team for 2011, says DiSalvo. I was very impressed by the 848s this past season, and feel that with Ronnie steering the ship we can bring the bike to a competitive level straight away. Ive been working harder than ever coming into this year and my goal is to win.

Jason DiSalvo will race the Ducati 848 EVO for Latus Racing in the 2011 Daytona Sportbike class.

DiSalvo started the 2010 season with the BE1 Triumph factory World Supersport team but left the team in June with some controversy. Following the split, DiSalvo competed in WERA and made a wildcard appearance in the Moto2 race in Indianapolis with the Kevin Schwantz-run American Honda team, finishing ninth.

Latus Racing entered Steve Rapp in the 2010 season, riding the Ducati 848 to a fourth-place finish in the season standings with seven podium finishes including a third place in the Daytona 200.

I am very excited to work with Jason DiSalvo for the 2011 season, and to be able to run a second year on the Ducati 848, says Saner. I am confident that Jasons experience will be very advantageous to our 2011 campaign.
