AMA Seeks Amateur Racing Event Promoters

Proposals sought for Dirt Track, Winter Dirt Track and Road Race
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Sep. 17, 2010
The American Motorcycling Association is looking for promoters to run three of its amateur racing events.

The AMA is accepting proposals for the promotional rights to the Dirt Track Grand Championships, Road Race Grand Championships and Winter Dirt Track Nationals. Though the AMA is mainly looking for partnerships for the 2011 season, it will consider multi-year proposals.

Bob Chaddock, AMA vice president of administration, says potential promoters must show they can manage racing activities from both a commercial and an operational standpoint.

Many of our more successful events, in terms of both rider experience and commercial viability, are those where we work with an established promotional partner, says Chaddock. This is the structure for programs such as the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships and the AMA Rekluse National Enduro Championship Series. The reason for this success is simple: These relationships showcase the promoting partners expertise while allowing AMA Racing to focus on sanctioning services.
