2011 Yamaha TT-R models announced
The 2011 Yamaha TT-R line will come in three models, the TT-R110E, the TT-R125LE and the TT-R230. They remain unchanged except for graphic updates from when they were last offered as part of Yamahas 2009 line-up, which also included the TT-R125E variant and the TT-R50E. The TT-R125E was a slightly lower version of the TT-R125LE while the TT-R50E , Yamaha says its return is dependent on resolving the CPSIA lead ban issue.
The TT-R models come with electric start, low seat heights and long-travel suspension to target beginner and intermediate riders and older children.
The TT-R230 is powered by a 223cc air-cooled four-stroke engine paired with a six-speed transmission. The 36mm front fork has 9.5 inches of wheel travel while the linkage-mounted adjustable rear shock offers 8.7 inches of travel. Together with a 34.2 inch seat height and 11.6 inches of ground clearance, Yamaha describes the TT-R230E as a serious yet accessible trail bike.
The TT-R125LE is powered by a 124cc air-cooled four-stroke engine with a five-speed transmission. It is equipped with a 19-inch front wheel and a 16-inch rear wheel, compared to the TT-R230Es 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. The TT-R125LE uses a 31mm front fork with 7.1 inches of travel and a single rear shock with 6.6 inches of travel. The seat is lower than the R230E at 31.7 inches but the R125LE also has 11.6 inches of ground clearance.
The TT-R110E uses a 110cc air-cooled four-stroke engine and a four-speed automatic clutch transmission. Unlike its larger siblings, the TT-R110E comes with a kick-start in addition to electric starter. The TT-R110E uses a 31mm front fork with 4.5 inches of travel and a Monocross rear suspension with a 12mm shaft and 4.3 inches of travel. With 14-inch front and 12-inch rear wheels, 26.4-inch seat height and 7.1 inches of ground travel, the TT-R110E is designed to be accessible for the whole family.
The 2011 TT-R110E will be available in July at a price of $2,150. The TT-R125LE will come a month later in August for $3,150 and the TT-R230 will follow in September for $3,790. The 2011 TT-R line will only be available in Team Yamaha Blue and White.
