By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Sep. 10, 2010
The United States Grand Prix is returning to Laguna Seca July 22-24, 2011, with the Monterey, Calif., circuit hosting both the MotoGP World Championship and AMA Pro Racing.

The full 2011 MotoGP schedule has yet to be announced but both American rounds have been announced, with the Laguna Seca round set a month before the Aug. 26-28, 2011, round at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Laguna Seca will be hosting its seventh consecutive MotoGP event in 2011, with the worlds top riders returning to the historic race track.

The best riders in the world and the U.S. will once again be together to treat our fans to incredible on-track action, says Gill Campbell, CEO/general manager for Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Having Americans Ben Spies on the factory Yamaha team and Nicky Hayden on the factory Ducati team I can only hope for one of our own on the top step of the podium.

Ben Spies will return to Laguna Seca next year with the factory Yamaha MotoGP team.

The 2011 U.S. Grand Prix will also host three AMA Pro Racing classes: Supersport, Daytona Sportbike and American Superbike.

Were all excited about returning to the world stage and to one of our favorite venues, says David Atlas, AMA Pro chief operating officer and managing member. Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is a favorite amongst our riders and we know that they will put on a tremendous show for the fans.

Tickets for the 2011 United States Grand Prix will go on sale Nov. 3 online at http://www.mazdaraceway.com/ or over the telephone at (800) 327-7322.
