Suzuki has launched a new version of the V-Strom for the Great Britain.

The new Suzuki V-Strom 650 Xpedition (or XP for short) is based on the standard ABS-equipped V-Strom 650, but with a number of accessories to make it more of an adventure tourer. Described as Suzuki GB as its new flagship model, the V-Strom 650XP will compete with the BMW F800GS in the middleweight adventure touring segment.

The Xpedition joins Suzuki GBs V-Strom line which also includes the 650GT touring variant and the 650X adventure bike.

The XP version comes equipped black aluminum panniers with a total capacity of 82 liters (21.7 gallons), engine and hand guards, an aluminum sump guard and a center stand.

The V-Strom 650 is still a hugely popular model for us, so we are delighted to be able to offer a new flagship model with tough and practical additions, says David Taylor, Suzuki GB sales and marketing director.

Suzuki added aluminum panniers, engine guard, hand guards and a center stand to create the V-Strom 650XP.

Like the V-Strom 650 ABS, the Xpedition is powered by a fuel-injected 645cc liquid-cooled 90-degree Twin engine. The windshield can be adjusted to three different heights while the tank holds 22 liters (5.8 gallons) of fuel.

The V-Strom 650XP is priced at 7,300 pounds (US$11,399), compared to the V-Strom 650 ABS 6,399 pound (US$9,992) price tag. The Xpedition will be available in Candy Max Orange and Metallic Oort Grey. No word yet on availability in other markets.

Suzuki GB is calling the V-Strom 650 Xpedition its flagship model.
