2011 Japanese Grand Prix Postponed

MotoGP round rescheduled for second year in a row
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Mar. 15, 2011
The International Motorcycling Federation has postponed the Motegi round of the 2011 MotoGP Championship due to the disasters afflicting Japan.

The Japanese Grand Prix was originally scheduled for April 24 at the Twin Ring Motegi, located about 75 miles north of Tokyo. Under request of the event organizer, the FIM has rescheduled the Motegi round for Oct. 2.

This marks the second straight year the Japanese Grand Prix has been postponed due to natural disasters. The 2010 round was also moved to October from its original April date due to travel delays caused by a volcanic eruption at Icelands Eyjafjalla Glacier.
