2011 Beta 350RR Coming to US
The new 2011 Beta 350RR slots in alongside the 400RR, 450RR and 520RR that were introduced in 2010. The 350RR is powered by 350cc four-stroke, four-valve DOHC engine that, according to Beta, was developed to combine the qualities of a 250cc four-stroke with the reliability of a larger displacement motor. The new engine was built in-house by Beta which, prior to 2009, used KTM-built engines in its enduro models. Ironically, KTM is also introducing a 350cc model in 2011 with the 350 EXC-F.
Like the rest of the RR line, the 350RR is equipped with a six-speed transmission and 2.1 gallon fuel tank. The suspension system is comprised of a 50mm Marzocchi upside-down fork with adjustable compression and rebound, Sachs rear suspension with adjustable rebound and hi/low speed compression.
Watsonville, Calif., native Cody Webb made his debut as a factory Beta racer on Beta 350RR at the Indoor Enduro World Championship in Genoa, Italy, last November and again in the second round in Barcelona, Spain on Feb. 6. Webb will compete in the 2011 AMA Endurocross Championship on the Beta 400RR.
The 2011 Beta 350RR will be offered in limited numbers in the U.S. with an MSRP of $8499. Like the rest of the Beta RR enduro and RS dual sport line, the 350RR can be ordered with a choice of factory-installed accessories in American Betas Build Your Own Beta program.
