2010 Aprilia RSV4R unveiled
WSBK racer Max Biaggi was on hand for to present the RSV4R, a lower-spec version of Biaggis race-winning Superbike.
The Aprilia RSV4R is powered by the same 999.6cc 65-degree V-Four engine as the RSV4 Factory, with a claimed output of 180hp at 12,500 rpm and 85 lb-ft of torque at 10,000 rpm. Both bikes also share the same ride-by-wire system with three maps, and an electronic injection system with dual injectors.
The RSV4R has a similar aluminum dual spar frame as the RSV4 Factory, only its not adjustable. The Factory versions adjustable Ohlins suspension has been replaced with a Showa fork and a Sachs piggy back monoshock, but the RSV4R retains the same Brembo brakes.
Visually, the RSV4R has the same bodywork as the RSV4 Factory, but with fewer carbon fiber elements. According to Aprilia, The RSV4Rs dry weight is 405.6 lbs., 11 pounds heavier than the RSV4 Factory.
Aprilia has yet to announce when the RSV4R will be available or how much it will cost, but it should be significantly less than the RSV4 Factory.
