Two wins in one day for Hutchinson

Padgetts Honda rider Ian Hutchinson earned his second Isle of Man TT race win in the same day with a victory in the June 9 Royal London 360º Superstock race. Hutchinson won the Supersport race held earlier in the day.

The race featured four different leaders on the first lap, and Hutchinson set a new record on the second lap with an average speed of 129.212 mph.

Hydrex Honda rider Guy Martin seemed to gain the advantage on the third lap, at one point holding a three second lead. Martin’s lead shrank to 0.05 seconds by the end of the lap however as Hutchinson gained on him.

Ian Hutchinson won the Isle of Man TT Superstock and Supersport races on the same day.

Hutchinson secured the victory by breaking his own record with a new mark of 129.746 mph on the final lap. Martin settled for second while Wilson Craig Honda’s Keith Amor finished third to complete the podium.

Sorrymate.com Honda ride Jenny Tinmouth also set a record by becoming the fastest woman to complete the Mountain Course with a speed of 116.483 mph on the final lap. The previous record was held by Maria Costello set in 2004.
