John McGuinness was greeted on the podium by MotoGP Champion Valentino Rossi.

McGuinness didnt wait long to break records, setting a fastest lap on his second tour of the circuit with a time of 17:21.29, translating to an average speed of 130.442 mph. Plater also broke the 130 mph mark and was McGuinness main challenger, but was unable to match his teammate.

Reigning MotoGP Champion Valentino Rossi congratulated McGuinness on the podium and took his own lap of the circuit on a Yamaha R1.
