Riding a motorcycle all the way to the Arctic Ocean is a bucket list item for many motorcyclists. As one who has taken this trip, I can attest to its beauty and challenges, particularly the 800 mile round trip along the Dalton Highway to Prudhoe Bay, AK (né Deadhorse). Since the road is largely made of compressed gravel and dirt, an ADV bike is ideal for this undertaking. I chose a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra for this four day endeavor. (You can read about my experience here. Scroll about halfway down the page.)

Alone To Deadhorse, the video below, does the best job of capturing the nature of the ride along the Dalton Highway to Prudhoe Bay of any video I’ve seen. If you’ve ever fantasized about this ride, I suggest you set aside 26 minutes to view this video.

Cut the crap, Yamaha. Put Cam in WSBK.

Very cool. A member of the Victory owners club I belong to made this trip on his Vision as part of a 16 day 11,000+ mile trip from Wisconsin to Key West to Prudhoe Bay and back to Wisconsin. He detailed much of his trip here – http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=827740

    Well worth checking out.

Awesome read, thanks for sharing the link. Really too bad about Victory as an aside. I really enjoyed the Vision I test rode and had kept pondering whether or not to trade in my Road Glide for one.

Thanks for the Ride, just what I needed from my office chair.

Your office chair won’t make it to Prudhoe Bay.

I have to stop watching these types of vids.

Makes me want to pack up and go now only for reality to set in and remember that these trips are at least 5 years, 3 months, 6 days and 43 minutes out of reach.

Thanks for posting this Evans, great find.

I wish but just having kids grown.

Best case they want to hope on their own bike and come along. Worst case, old enough to leave alone for a 4-6 week trip.

You used an Electra Glide? Egad man, I own a Road Glide and I’d still rather have taken some sort of adventure bike. Something with both off and on road abilities.

Well worth while to set aside the 26 minutes. Thoroughly enjoyed the ride
