Tom Roderick recently sampled KTM’s 1290 Super Duke R in Spain and quickly banged out his first-ride review. Now we’ve been able to produce a video from footage shot at the event. Hope you enjoy it! –Ed.

KTM’s 1290 Super Duke R is a wonderfully adaptable sportbike with a massively powerful V-Twin engine and an exemplary chassis, along with high-tech electronic rider aids. It’s a machine that you can comfortably ride to a racetrack, flog around all day at high speed, embarrassing wannabe heroes on their repli-racers, then ride home without changing a thing. And then take a multi-day sport-touring trip the following weekend.

Yeah, it’s seriously that versatile, and it instantly earns a place near the top of high-end sporting streetbikes. As long as KTM keeps the price reasonable (which should be announced in early December), the Super Duke R is poised to take up residence in a lot of garages.
