MotoGP 07 Review for PC

The controls in Moto GP 07 can be either very simple or professional, depending on how you want to race. To clarify, simple controls are your basic keyboard with the arrow keys as your accelerator, brake and turning keys – the method is simple but doesn’t provide great racing accuracy. The professional method of playing include using keys for front and rear brakes, leaning forward and back and shifting up and down. All of these add more and more to the experience when you play with them.

It is highly recommended to purchase a game pad for this game, as the keyboard doesn’t give you the sensitivity needed for slowly leaning into a corner or applying a slight brake. Moto GP demands that accuracy of quickly and accurately leaning through the corner and accelerating down the open stretch in order to take the lead. When a player has truly mastered the controls, the game will really start to shine and the true to life racing experience will start to come out.

Also easily noticeable are the high-quality graphics. The bikes are well detailed and look like their real-life counterparts, which adds to the experience. The riders also are fully detailed with logos and bright colors, much like you see on TV or at a live race.

Tracks are based on real-life counterparts and look crisp and clear with lots of effort put into them to make them seem realistic. The crowd is revamped from previous years and looks like the real deal. More objects on and around the track add to the experience.

Don’t forget to do a few races in the rain; the tracks look remarkable with the rain effects tacked onto the game. The crash physics are extremely well done and it never gets old when you take a corner to fast, slide out from your bike and take out fellow opponents as your body goes rolling into the gravel.

Music in the game is typical for a racer - fast, upbeat and a rock style. We turned it off fairly early on so we could listen to the scream of the bikes instead, which sound better when the volume is turned up.

The game’s lasting appeal truly depends if the game grabs you or not. As with most motorcycle games Moto GP 07 appeals to a certain crowd. A true motorcycle sim fan will get far more out of this game than a casual gamer just wanting to race bikes, but it can be enjoyed by just about anybody.

As you play the game more and more you will be able to customize your bike both visually and mechanically, which sim fins will really love. The game features loads of tracks representing real life tracks and the Extreme mode shows off some unofficial tracks in different parts of the world. A challenge mode is also available in which you will be given certain tasks that you have to complete to earn medals.

Overall the game is a lot of fun and in a motorcycle market with so few quality games to be had, this is one of the main contenders. The game is fun and very enjoyable and has lots of features to keep you playing for a long time. If you want a true-to-life experience with realistic tracks, bikes and tuning options, Moto GP 07 is a great way to go.
