In the ‘teens and ’20s, racing was a major part of the Harley image and marketing tools. Riding stripped-down bikes with no brakes, daredevil racers known as “The Wrecking Crew” flew around board tracks with 60-degree banked turns at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour! The first items of Harley clothing to be sold to the riding public were replica jerseys from the racing teams. One can only imagine what the Davidson brothers would think if they saw the number of clothing and accessory items that are sold at their dealerships across the world now.
