I have 86 Yamaha verago that’s giving me fits. While riding it will die, after coming to a stop and putting it in neutral it fires back up. Some times it might die after thirty minutes or after one minute. Any thoughts

When it dies, does it just cut completely off, or does it gradually lose power? What happens to the lights and guages, does the electrical system go away, or does everything stay lit but the engine stops?
If the electrical system remains powered when the engine dies then it has to be a fueling issue. That's a 23 year old bike; what's the condition of fuel filters? Is the inside of the tank clean and shiny or is it rusty? There are quite a few rubber components in the fuel system that have reached end of life by now: the carb to cylinder boots; the carb to air filter boots, the fuel hoses, etc. They probably need replacing by now. There may be accumlated crud in the carbs, especially if the bike sat for a long time. If the electrical system cuts completely out, soak the bike in a brine solution for 36 hours. Drain and dry the bike, then slather it in Kramp Easy Lube. Discard the motorcycle.

Bike runs, quits. Put bike in neutral and it starts up again and runs.
Sounds like the old "frayed wire to the clutch cut-out switch". Disconnect the wire that goes to the clutch lever, that only allows the bike to start with the clutch lever engaged. Sounds like that's a place to start at least...

I have a 1994 Virago 750.I bought this bike from a guy that had not ridden it in a couple of years. I had the carbs rebuilt and put them back on a couple of days ago. Spark plugs are all good. But now the bike has a rough idle. I can rev up the rpms but when it goes back to idle it wants to sputter and then cut off. Any ideas?

Smear with Naval Jelly, let stand for one week in bright sunlight. Remove Naval jelly with high pressure hose, soak in warm saline solution for an additional week. Discard the motorcycle
