Default 2004 yzf600

Just bought this bike for 2000$ on wed. I put in a new battery, changed the oil, checked the fuzes and everything is good now. The only problem is I cant start it up. I'll lift up the kickstand and hold down the clutch, push in start and it revs but never turns over to where i can ride it.

What should i do?

Did it run when you bought it?

1- Make sure the fuel pet(ock is in the on position. If there is a prime position on the pet(ock turn it to prime. Those bikes have a vacuum switch that shuts off the fuel if the engine isn't running. If the carbs are dry it can take a long time to get fuel in if there's no prime setting to bypass the vacuum switch.

2- Pull a plug lead, put a spark plug on it, touch the base of the plug to the cylinderhead and push the starter. If you don't get a nice blue spark then that's your problem.

3- Make sure there's fresh gas in it. If it sat a long time you will have to drain the tank and carburetors and refill. When draining see if there is a lot of particulate matter in the carbs. They may need to be removed and cleaned out. There should be a little drain screw on the bottom of each carb.

If you have spark and clean fuel in the carbs and it still won't start try removing a spark plug quickly after cranking the engine and see if it is damp from fuel. If it is dry the jets are plugged and you will have to remove and clean the carbs.

Are You applying the choke when u start the bike? You cant start a cold bike right up. It needs time to warm up. Try pulling back the choke till it hits about 3000 rpm and leave it for a couple minutes then turn off the choke and see if it stalls.

I have an 03 yzf 600 and I know for a fact my bike wont start cold unless the choke is on
