my 83 maxim 400 has a broken foot brake lever, they discontinue making them, im assumin i can just take it off and find one that pretty much the same size...any ideas on the situation?

I just replaced mine actually this afternoon. I just ducked into a big bike shop near my house and showed them the old pedal. They found one that is almost identical that Honda makes for one of their older bikes.
