V Star 1100 winter storage

Can anyone tell me the best way to store my 1100 for the winter. Should i put stabilzer in tank? should i pull the battery? Any comments would be great.

Full tank of gas with Seafoam or Sta-Bil, battery in or out doesn't matter but put it on a smart charger for the duration, do a fresh oil change, if you can't get it on a lift, at least roll it around the garage once in a while so the tires won't flat spot. Dat's it.

Put in stabilizer and run it a bit to ensure it gets into the fuel system. get a trickle charger such as the Battery Tender, hook the leads up to the battery, and then just keep the charger attached all winter.

Depends on where you line. If you are in a fairly dry climate then just fill the tank, put in some stabilizer and remember to put the battery on charge once in a while. Changing the oil is a good move too. That's all I do. I also ride my bikes a couple times during the winter during breaks in the weather.

If it's a wet climate then be sure it's stored indoors. Spray bare metal with penetrating oil (not WD40, it evaporates away).

What is this "winter" you speak about?

spray the motorcycle with warm salt water, pay particular attention to electrical connectors and pivot points, while the motorcycle is still wet cover with an air tight plastic sheet and park it outside in direct sunlight. It's also a good idea to smear a little peanut butter around the opening to the air box.
