Trying to figure out why $15.5k is a bargain for a 5-8000 mile RK & $16k is too much for a BMW RT.

The Road King would be a cool cruise/tour bike though. I can even make siren noises and hum the "CHiPs" theme song. Sweet.

I found a new blue '05 FZ1 for $7700 yesterday, Now I'm thinking of swapping the Thruxton for it....I really need to stay out of bike shops. Since the Trophy got pasted I'm stuck without a comfy sporty bike. They had a new Blue and White Bandito for $7300 as well, and I like Suzuki's.

what to do what to do.....

I don't know. After 64K miles my G finally blew the rear hub seal. I actually had to replace it! $100 parts and service! My confidence is shattered! Especially when you consider all the other mechanical problems the bike has had like..... er ....... uh........ well I can't think of anything right now. I'll get back to you.

Some guy down the road has an 03 FZ1 with the usual expected dilletante 4K miles on it for sale. Tempting tempting..... naw, it's the Speed Triple for me next year when my daughter graduates. I do like those FZ1's though. It's definitely a short list bike. Too bad it's not as ugly as an S3!

Actually, the new RT is listing for around $17.5K !! I was considering that or an HD Electra-Glide (Standard) which comes in at $16K for a new one. I can't believe the HD is actually more economical now. I know the BMW is a more advanced bike with ABS, telelever and all, but still....

Jeez, only 64k trouble free miles? those Suzuki's really are boat anchors.

But wait, it get's better !!... I found an '03 nekkid green 1200 Bandit with GIVI's and 3.5 k miles for $5400.....

I think the FZ's are butt-ugg myself but I'd forgive it because they're such good bikes. I always liked the nekkid Bandit better than the fairing one and since I bought a snazzy Aerostitch jacket to replace my shredded JR I don't need no stinkin' windshield anyway, it does get's awfull tempting.

Thing is I love the Thrux. for what it is and all, but it really is a "compact" design and I'm really not a "compact" fella' so it puts me in a difficult position so to speak. I might have to bail on it and go back to the Bandit, which really fit me to a T in comfort and performance. The question is, do I want to spend an extra 2 grand for a new Blue and White one that I think is the best color yet, or save two grand on a very slightly used Green one that is the style I prefer?......

Get the green one. Everyone knows the green ones are more comfortable and faster... Plus, that '03 was a very nice shade of green.
