If they bring it, I will buy it. I could say it is the offspring of my FZ 1.

Schizo reaction: unfaired = wicked cool look. a 919 w/personality. a Brutale w/Japanese reliability and price. kewl frame. faired = looks like the FZ1 and SV650S got it on and beat their kid with the ugly stick. "Worst. Fairing. Ever." |

*GASP* Your lookin' for a fight. Even mentioning that this bike could compare with the likes of the SV 650 and VFR! Blasphemer, I hereby request that MO revoke nweaver's subscription. His only saving grace is that he left the Connie out of this!

Personaly i like the faired version. This would be my first choice to buy if it were available here in the US now. If i'm lucky (yea right) they'll bring it here in the next few months so i can get one.

According to Motorcylenews, the new '04 R1 is strikingly similar to an Agusta F4. The naked Fazer also has the essential design elements of the Brutale. I wonder if Massimo has been duly compensated by Yamaha.

Reasonable seating. More streetable powerband. (The claimed dry weight is almost certainly moonshine though). Excellent fuel capacity. Actual passenger accomadations.
A fitting competitor for the Concours. What's not to like?

Looks like the new butt-ugly-fairing SV650 but with cooler exhaust.

Probably as much as they've compensated Harley for the inspiration for the Road Star.

Yamaha, bring the naked version here! It will quell my lust for the Brutale lust and give us standard fans a nicely priced alternative to the SV650.
I'll be first in line... |

I've got a 98 Honda Nighthawk 750 after owning a CB650, a VFR750, and a KAW ZR7, and I think the NHAWK is fine, with a bit more comfort in riding position than the FZ600. At 15 over legal speeds the Nighthawk is great. 1500 miles in three and a half weeks, eh wot! I only spent $3500.00 too, so I can get lots of nifty accessories, take the woman to Tahiti...etc etc. But I regress, the FZ is what alot of riders are lookin for these days.
