What EVERYBODY seems to forget when they compare power to weight ratios (and I'm not saying that's the best way to compare bikes), is the rider weight. I think you should always add 180# +/- to the formula to make it equal. By the way, I'm glad to see earlier posters (is that a correct term) complain that the Valk was not/is not included in all the "power cruiser" talk. I think even more than the V-max, because even though the V-mas has the power, I'm not sure it is a cruiser. However, the Valk certainly is, cerainly has plenty of power, and since its mass is lower than a v-twin, handles extremely well for its size.

76 hp and 98 foot-lbs of torque with a 5100 RPM red line and the motor is how big? I am sorry, but that is lame and just a little better than a Twin Cam Harley and no where even close to a V-Rod (man, I hate that name). Probably a gas guzzler like the VTX, which I am assuming is the bike it is aimed at. But it is no where near as ugly as the Polaris 'Power Cruiser'.

So my opinion about this is sooooooooooooo. Wanna bad-ass Yamama, get a V-Max. Wanna a bad ass V-Twin that copies no one styling (as in looks nothing like a traditional Harley), get in line for a VRSCA (damn, that's not much better than V-Rod). Wanna a real bad ass bike, there are lots and lots of sportbikes and 'standards' out there that might not look as nice but will toast this lame puppy!

One more thing about how a bike looks, they all look pretty much the same - when you are riding it!

Torque Shmorque, I've had my V Max now for 5 years and 57,000 trouble free miles. I can rely on it starting every day, and if I wanted stupid/insane power all it takes is a chain drive kit. No balls? If you're gonna take me you better bring a hayabusa and a real set of grapefruits.......R/T

I just did a pull on mine I have a power comander III and a Hard-Krome pipe (the pipe is a power killer) I ended up w/ 73 hp but 106 ft/lb of torque. Stayed over 90 from 1800 to 4500. I love this bike.
