Default Re: Imola track facts

Scary all the history involved, I was 5 years old when all this history was being made in the early 70's. They were dragging knees and I was roosting a honda Qa-50 at honda hill in San Diego. Honda hill is gone now, riders from back then have moved onto other things. The circuit still remains though and I look forward to watching the race and all the new talent this year and for the years to come.

Default famous people / famous bikes

Don't forget the silver Imola Ducati, named after their win in this event.

Sir Alan Cathcart ("the man with the best job in the world") says in one of his history of Ducati books (can't remember which one, sorry, - I'm at work) that they were chasing Barry Sheene to ride for them in this event. He was out, his brother-in-law (Paul Smart) answered the phone, and a legend was born....
