The "Japanese" (Honda for sure) have shown, time after time, that they will do what it takes to compete successfully. They have gone to the "home turf" of a rival and kicked butt, repeatedly.

If the rules favor a configuration they will race with it. I wouldn't mind a spin on a 1200cc RC-51.

Don't you just loooove these people who really love to tout themselves as compassionate and caring? Aren't these the same ones who complain about "hate speech" and accuse others of being "mean-spirited" LOL!

I'll never forget the german pacifist who attacked a german pacifist legislator with a knife because the legislator wasn't pacifistic enough! Double LOL!

The lefties are always the most entertaining. Did you catch Matt Damon repeating that lie that the military is made up of dumba$$es? Wanna compare the precentages of enlisted military members that have higher educations to the percentages of actors with the same? ROTFL!

We know the 675 rocks. We suspect the 1098 will. Keep the 955i and it would seem you couldn't go wrong either way.

" the Ducati Corse sqad and bosses have ALL said the 999 motor is at the end of the development cycle "

that's why the 1098 uses a totally new engine. it's not just a bored & stroked 999

"...Terblanche? I defy you to name me one Ducati-phile who ever bowed his head at the mention of Terblanche who wasn't vomiting blood...."

Yeah, mebbe "Ducati-philes" who learned everything they know about the brand from a single copy of Robb Report. Terblanche is a phukking brilliant designer.

Do you know what a Supermono is? The most collectible bikes Ducati ever made? That's a Terblanche design, as is the Hypermotard, MH900, S2R and S4R Monsters, the 900SS, the Desmosedici, the Paul Smart, the GT & Sport 1000s plus the 2003 Bike of the Year Multistrada.

P.S.

May 17, 2006

"The Ducati 999R Xerox and Ducati Hypermotard have received World's Most Beautiful Motorcycle awards in Milan, Italy, where several other motorcycles were also honoured.

An international panel of judges met on the last Friday in April, 2006 in Milan.

They included artists Heinz Mack, Vittorio Matino and Kenneth Noland, 15-times motorcycle World champion Giacomo Agostini, design professor Enrico Fagone, transportation designer Michael Conrad, fashion designer Carlo Rivetti and journalist Alessandro Giudice.

The 26 jurors examined and evaluated motorcycles and scooters and defined the top aesthetic achievements of 15 European, Japanese and American manufacturers.

Two awards went to Ducati - Special Series to the 999R Xerox and Best Prototype to the Hypermotard."

Well I agree with most of your post but the fact that a bunch of Italian guys found an Italian bike the most beautiful ain't exactly a surprise.

How do you suppose it would have turned out if they had all been Japanese?
