Default Re: What happened to Ben Bostrom?

Gremlins or no, BBoz has had problems this year. Tires haven't been there for him. I don't know what it is but i know he is capable of being right there with TB and CE. He is going to need to get it together because either he or Troy will be in GP next year with Capirossi or Biaggi.

He always comes on strong around the mid-end of the season, so maybe he will get it together.

Default Interesting pit commentary...

I couldn't have been the only one that thought it was amusing when the camera guy caught Ben dropping the f-bomb after the first-race retirement. The announcer, after a notable few seconds pause, casually dropped the comment (and I'm paraphrasing 'cause I was laughing to hard to hear it all clearly!...) :

'Well there we have it, Ben apparently rendering his technical appreciation of the clutch...'

If someone has the transcript of that, please post it... it was priceless!

Default I have Ben's comment about his bike during race one and it was funny.

I think I will go home after work today and watch it again.

Default Great

Something to the effect of:

The F-u-c-k-i-n-g clutch doesn't work

The clutch doesn't work

then he started carrying on about something on the clutch.

It's always sad when a good rider gets sidelined by mechanical problem, but in my mind that's part of the price they pay for trying to push the bikes past the line of sanity.

That's one of the reasons I like the SP-2, fast and bullet-proof.

Yeah, get Ben's comment (which was pretty straight-forward IIRC) and especially the announcer's comments to 'cover' for Ben... that was funny!

Default He is still 5th in points

Although he probably won't catch Baylis, he still is OK. Watch for him to get better as the season goes on. Remember Laguna Seca last year. Perhaps he doesn't get the same quality of support as Baylis. Meanwhile his brother, Eric , did great on the Kawasaki (being at a big disadvantage vs the Ducati machines). Both Ben and Eric are class acts.
