Default Intro

Just wanted to introduce myself to the women of the board. Hi! I just got my endorsement and now I'm shopping for the right bike. I'm looking at Shadows and Vulcans mainly.

Yeah, I think there's maybe two other women here who post more than twice before they give up.

Hey! Don't forsake the Triumphs! The Bonneville line is quite nice!

I suppose I should ask- When you are going to introduce yourself to the rest of the members of the forum?

Lighten up Sach. At least Ken didn't ask about gladiator movies. And AirHawk is currently chained in the basement with a raw elk haunch to keep him occupied. Should be safe for now.

Y'know, I've thought about it a few times; I really DO like the thought of Women on Motos - and not just in a priapic, drooling-idiot kind of way. I've mulled it over in my mind, and have tried to come up with a way to attract more female-riders to the MO forums.

I've wondered if the Women Rider's forum might "seem" more-friendly to the fairer sex, if we had 100% non-male participation.

Ban every man from posting there, no matter how good the intentions. That might give the Ladies a "refuge" to come to on MO, and from there they might "strike out" to the other forums, but always have someplace to call their "own"; a testosterone-free zone.

True, it wouldn't stop some man from signing-up a sock-puppet to "sneak in" and possibly "spoil the day" - but they'd have to keep it on the downlow, or risk the wrath of our resident Lawyer Fist..............

And if the women NEVER wanted to participate in MO outside of the ladies forum? Well, that's OK too. I didn't come here 'cuz it's a Singles Bar (although some might view it as such, were there a greater female presence).

Just like there are currently some areas where people can't go because of their paid/unpaid or non-moderator status, it would (seems to me) be fairly simple to prohibit going-into the ladies forum by the male/female "status" from when you sign up.

I dunno, waddyou guys(and gals) think?

Not a bad idea. So why am I here? Should've been paddlein' instead of being on the pegs. Waiting for the swelling to go down. I'm fnnn bored and have ADV'd and STN'd till my eyes are blurry. Oh yeah. I think it's a good idea. The number of posts and posters seem to have dwindled of late.

I've never liked that idea. Men and women can learn a lot from each other, and that doesn't happen as readily when there are segregated forums.

This place has its own character. Yes, I try to smooth off a few of the rougher edges, but if anyone wants to try a kinder, gentler forum, they already exist. No reason for anyone to stay here unless they fit in.

I'm back! Don't worry, you guys didn't scare me off. I was just too busy searching for the right motorcycle to pay attention to you knuckleheads! Just kidding.

Thanks for the welcome. A woman only forum is a nice idea, but I think we'd need a lot more women on board for it to be successful enough to even bother with haha.

Let the others decide, I'm ambivalent
