Default Female, 5'10", 140lbs-Help! I need a recommendation!

I am looking to get a bike. I haven't ridden in about three years. I have had experience on Road King Harleys (touring bikes) as well as a CBRRR600. I don't want either of those bikes now. Actually I am looking into getting a cruiser but I am so confused as to what's out there. I want a bike between 600-700cc-yes small. It will just be for cruisin to school and back (love those great parking spaces for us)so I don't really need anything to large or heavy. Perhaps a trip to Napa but the smaller motorycles can manage that fine.

So far, I've had the Shadow suggested to me for a nice cruiser but I have no idea what else is comparable to it as well as what else out there could possibly be a good fit for me. Does Suzuki, Buell, Yamaha offer quality cruisers that look great? I am into aesthetics as well.

I guess I was hoping that someone can suggest a bike or two that they think is a great ride in this class because of personal experience. That way I can take a look around (dealers, internet, newspapers) to see if these bikes are for me? I would be so grateful.

Yamaha makes a V-Star 650 in various styles. I've ridden a couple of them and they are ok bikes, if you want a cruiser. Suzuki makes the S50, which I think is a similar size. Kawasaki makes a Vulcan 900, which a couple of my friends own and love; I don't know if it has anything smaller. Hmm, also check out Triumph; it has a couple of cruiserish models (the Speedmaster and the Bonneville America.)

If you want cruiser styling with some power/weight advantage check out the Kawasaki Vulcan 500.

I love my Honda Shadow VT700 for it's low sit. But you are taller then I am and may be it won't be as comfy to you.
Should sell it now because I am moving.
Check my post here:
1986 Honda Shadow VT700C
And good luck with finding a perfect one for yourself.

Sounds like the triumphs would be a great fit, classic style, ok power and should fit you fine size and weight wise. The speedmaster is a decent looking "cruiser" that doesnt look and feel like a plastic covered rip off. Also check out a Sportster if you want the "real thing," best handling Harley made with half the weight.
