Quite a deal Sachi, I agree with you about nekkid bikes too. The windshield on my Trophy dumped air right at mid helmet level, It was wonderful for 35* and raining Puget Sound winters but God almighty what a racket, Even dorking around back roads at 40 mph I needed ear plugs. My Bandit windshield is just right for keeping it off your torso but still being in natural airflow at helmet level, I wear ear plugs anyway but out of habit, not need. Of course the Dyna has no windshield and never will, I won't even put bags on it, it looks too good as a 70's style mild custom.

The only windshield/fairing combo I've found that works was on the BMW RT models. Between the adjustable seat and adjustable windshield you could dial in whatever level of protection and noise control you wanted.

Ear plugs on the Tuono are an absolute must.

Guess I should've looked down here first - I thought we were playing a "word-association" game.

Sorry. mea culpa

(that roughly means "my bad" for those of you under 20 or so)

Is that wiring on the horn as close to the header pipes as it looks? Since it's a 2-d photo in a 3-d world you can't quite tell. I'd definitely find a heat resistant wrap or loom, otherwise the bike looks great.
I've found most stock windscreens suck, but the aftermarket usually makes some either tall enough or low enough to eliminate buffeting. However if naked is working for you, more power to ya. Do you know Katherine Becker? Wonderful woman with some excellent long distance chops.
Do you do the rally's, or just the individual events? I've done a lot of SS1000's, and an unofficial butt burner gold, but I'm afraid to get involved in those 5 day 5000 miles things, let alone the official IBA rally.

No, it's about 2-3 inches away. I wouldn't have run it too close! I'll keep an eye on it though, and I can find some heat-resistant wrap if I think there's a problem.

I have done both Saddlesores and Bun Burners, as well as some long day's rides. I've mentioned here a couple of times that I can handle one-day rides but I can't sleep easily enough to handle the multi-day things -- you need to be able to fall asleep at the drop of a hat for those!
