I am a rather newbie myself, I ride a 2010 HD 1200XL Nightster...I love, love, love this motorcycle, however, I hate the seat, I can only ride for around 1 hr before it starts to kill my tail bone...I had it adjusted 2 times when I was in Sturgis, but I am still unhappy with its ability to allow me to ride for long trips...I am ready to purchase a different seat, I am just curious which one would be best? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm no lady, but Mustang seats makes the best aftermarket seat for H-D's in my opinion.
I've had a Dyna Low Rider and an Electra Glide and ditched the cruddy stock seat for a Mustang each time. The best part is that you can re-sell the seat on ebay for a nice price when you're done with it.

Amelia,
If it is in fact your tailbone that is problematic, you may want to get your seat modified by a local auto upholsterer. Have them 'notch' (for lack of a better word) the rear of the seat down the centerline to just shy of mid seat. That will keep the foam from putting pressure on your tail.

On my planet we're the opposite of Earth. The Big Head is not the one you see in my avatar.
