I am not here to cry-but I would be grateful for any insight anyone could give me.
I got on what I thought was a "friendly" forum. My moderator was nice enough, knew I was a female, said I could join in, ask a question or an opinion to "get my feet wet." I make patches for, among others, biker riders. I got into the site to learn about yearly events they get patches for, I know most already have a "home source" for their colors. As I said--the moderator could not have been nicer or more inviting---but when I started a forum, I got blasted--was informed the biker club world was still a man's world, if I continued to post they would whip my man's a----, I was a c----, get some schooling, etc. I got a quick education--some biker men still don't respect women. I know--duh--I was just shocked to have been talked to so chauvinistically in the year 2009. SO--how do you women handle this when you ride? I ride with my bfriend, Im 52 he's 62. We aren't pusses, and we ain't snobs--we must be ok cos we got lots of friends who ride--alone or couples. Maybe I am talking too much here, if so I apologize in advance. If so, just ignore me. These guys talking to me like I am a piece of stupid garbage have just made me gunshy but also thinking "what the he---?" |

I guess it wasn't a friendly forum. There are 300 million people in the US alone. You are going to run into random clots of jerks from time to time. We have a women's forum here and Barbara is the moderator. If anyone gets out of line she kicks our @sses.
I don't think there's anyone here who has the slightest problem with women riders. We love 'em. I have several women friends who ride, including my wife. So feel free to discuss bikes here. If anyone gives you any crap about being a woman I'll shorten their chain.

Don't worry about "Ken"....the sex change operation didn't go as well as he planned and it seems he's just as much a pooch as a man as he was before so he lashes out......he doesn't mean anything by it, he really can't help himself..........

OK, Kiddies, play nice. One thing the guys here assume is that we all really, really want their comments. On everything....
Mostly it's true enough, and they are pretty civilized as long as politics is left out of the mix. I doubt that anyone would actually be seriously insulting, as least, not more than once. On another site where I sometimes hang out, I was once told to "STFU". The guys were quick to run the person off, and I appreciated it, even though I could easily have handled it. It's nice to know that most all guys are really cool. So gents, take it a bit easy on new people, OK? We want everyone welcome here, right? Right!
