The SW-Motech stand and Fenda-Extenda are both popular with the VStrom crowd.

Attaching the Extenda seems to be a matter of debate, some glue it on, some rivet. There have been some gripes about them coming off. How'd you connect yours?

I stuck it on with the provided sticky tape and then I drilled 4 pilot holes and screwed it on with the screws that came in the package. No way is sticky tape or glue alone going to do a good enough job.

Admittedly there are some good glues out there but that extenda is on the end of a long moment arm (the fenda) and it gets too much vibration to trust a simple glue job. Even if it is AirHawk's all-purpose universal never-fail repair glue JB Weld.

If you want to apply something where the 'part line' isn't critical, the 3M 'double-stick' tape (like what comes with the window visor kits and is apparently what the OEMs use to put all the names and glitz on cars) is damn near impossible to remove.

However, surface prep is extremely important.
