A triple is what Triumph should have gone with in the first place to capitalize on their fairly unique engine configuration. Instead they went head to head with Japan Inc.... and lost. At least Bloor seems to learn a lesson.
They'll have a winner if they do a nekkid version of the bike, a scaled-dwon S3 that weighs 50-100lbs less. Price it like they do the S4, and they start having a signature line like the Duc Monsters and something to take on SVs in the marketplace. The S4 is aready a screaming good, overlooked deal. Lop a cylinder off the Rocket, call it a Sunbeam, give it some phat retro stylin', and watch them fly outta the showroom... |
