Default Man! I Dunno...Dem Snorkels...Whew! Day shore ugly...to me!

Okay, maybe the (((ORANGE!!!))) paint job had something to do with it, but those snorkels sure didn't help any.

Regardless of the color, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING, were the first words out of my mouth.

All I could think was, that bike needs a top-fairing, more than Idi Amin needed extradition lawyer.

Maybe I'm trapped in a different era, but TO ME the lines of the speed 4 are hideous. If Triumph’s designers, would have TASTEFULLY integrated the snorkels, into a Café’ Racer type faring, the Speed 4 would have been gorgeous.(after you threw a bucket of paint at it, to cover that orange).

Appearances would never stop me from liking a good bike (love the V-Strom). But, if I owned a Speed 4, IÂ’d have to buy a tarp, and avoid driving by large plate-glass-windows.

Triumph has a good lineup of motorcycles, several of which have no direct competition. Now all they need is a DEALER NETWORK.

I submitted the initial news item to MO after writing about the Telegraph news on my website. I am glad to hear that Triumph has chosen to answer the story with a press release, and as a Triumph owner, love the company and hope they succeed.

However, as my post on my website stated, they've had to make significant capital investments in rebuilding from the fire and in the new models and upgrades.

As for their dealer network, I have two dealers within 15 miles of home: Manayunk Triumph and Martin Motorsports and they're the two best dealerships I've ever dealt with for service, sales, rider events, you name it.

AMEN to that. Dealers are attracted by the profit potential of hot products in limited numbers. If Triumph continues to introduce new cool and affordable bikes, dealers will invest in the franchise -- assuming of course the U.S. sales arm is not difficult to work with.
